Fundamentals of Advocacy in Health and Social Care

HIQA fundamentals of Advocacy

HIQA launched an online learning course, booklet and educational video on advocacy in April 2023. The advocacy resources are designed to help health and social care staff implement national standards and support people using services to have their human rights met. To date the course has been completed approximately 11,000 times on HSeLanD and approximately 18,000 copies of the booklet have been distributed to health and social care services.

The advocacy resources can be found on the HIQA Learning Hub  Learning Hub | HIQA, in the section under supporting adults: advocacy   Supporting adults | HIQA

The resources on The Fundamentals of Advocacy in health and social care have recently been shortlisted for a European Social Services Award.

The European Social Services Award recognises innovations that impact social care workforces in a positive manner and the theme of the event is “Promoting Person-centred Care”.

The European Social Network (ESN) is a network with over 125 member organisations in 33 European countries and supports the sharing of knowledge, practice and policies between social services across Europe. It is good to see Ireland represented in the shortlist of projects which are all worthy of nomination.

The voting is open to the public and HIQA would really appreciate if you could vote for their project by visiting the ESN Website. Voting closes November 4th 2023
